Beth P. Wahlig

Director of Socially Responsible Investing

Beth is Director of Socially Responsible Investing with MRA Advisory Group. She has 24 years of experience managing and analyzing investment portfolios in the equity, fixed income and alternative markets. Beth’s practice has a special focus on educating and helping women and their families build a financially secure future. She has developed the Women & Wealth program that focuses on women’s lifestyle choices and achievable financial goals. Through comprehensive financial planning, Beth provides roadmaps for clients to meet their financial and retirement needs. 

Beth has also served on many non-profit boards and is well equipped to understand the investment needs of endowments, foundations, and service-oriented organizations. In 2020, Beth developed a Socially Responsible Investment Portfolio where money can have an impact on making a difference in moving towards a more progressive and equal society. The social investing approach that invests in companies that lead in environmental policies, employee diversity, gender equality, community involvement and development of sustainable products and services. Social investing is focused on making investments in areas where money can have an impact on making a difference in moving towards a more progressive and equal society. This approach includes investments in companies focused on specific themes like environmental policies, renewable energy, sustainable products and services, gender equality, community involvement, access to clean water, and affordable housing. 

She believes in dynamic asset allocation given the inherent volatility in financial markets. Beth builds customized dividend equity growth portfolios through the astute selection of individual stocks and ETFs. She also selects individual corporate bonds to generate income for clients. 

Beth worked for many years in institutional asset management in New York City. As a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst at Shenkman Capital and General Motors Asset Management, Beth managed $6 billion of assets for institutional clients in leveraged loans and high yield bonds. She has earned her FINRA Series 65 registration and holds Life, Health, Accident and Variable Insurance licenses. 

In her free time, Beth likes to hike, swim, and play tennis. She has a BA in Economics from Wheaton College (MA) and MBA from Columbia Business School in Finance.
